I am a writer and poet who lives on the island of Rab in Croatia. Why Croatia? My husband and I have ties here going back generations—his are here on Rab and near Sinj, mine are in the mountains of Gorski Kotar—and our children are now connected to this place after many years of visiting.

For 30+ years, I was a busy professional in the Washington, DC, area with jobs in multimedia, communications, web and information design, business development, and program development. I dabbled in a lot of arenas, raised a lot of money for important projects, and even wrote a book on aging well.

Now, I have time to write for myself instead of for others. I’m reading so much more poetry than ever before and finding a community of writers to learn from. The literary world is not new to me, though. My undergraduate degree is in Literature from Harvard and my PhD is in Comparative Literature, also from Harvard.

In addition to my published poems, my chapbook, Slender Palaces, was a finalist for the Glass Poetry Series Chapbook Contest in 2026 and I also received a La Baldi Residency in 2026.
